Episode #009 - Learning to Just Say No

Episode 009 Learning to Just Say No.jpg

Why are we so afraid to say no?  Why are we so good at over committing ourselves?  When did it become taboo to say no without having to explain ourselves?  This is your one opportunity to do what you want, when you want and how you want. So why the heck do we say yes to things we don’t really want to do?

Through this episode you will look at different areas of your life and start to recognize where you say yes when you really want to say no.  By the end of this episode you will have an understanding as to why you do this and a clear picture that you have the ability to make adjustments when you really want to say no, but find yourself saying yes.

  1. Don’t do things because you feel obligated - do things because you want to.

  2. By filling up your time with things you don’t want to do, it is blocking out time for saying yes to opportunities that can bring you more fulfillment.

  3. You have to know your boundaries and set realistic expectations for yourself and those around you.

  4. Saying no does not diminish your character and in fact it makes you more approachable, likable and reliable.

  5. When someone asks something of you, if it’s not an immediate heck yes, make it a no.
